Past Productions

Cow Over Moon was started in 1995 (before many of you were even born!!!) It all started with a group of students from Cawthra Park Secondary School in Mississauga who loved doing improvisation (that means making up plays on the spot). One of them (his name is John) was asked if he and his friends could act out a fairy tale for the reading hour at the toy store he worked at. Well, one thing led to another and before you knew it, Cow Over Moon was created and this group of teenagers were making up 5 minute fairy tales at a variety of locations including Sears and Pizza Hut. They even got free pizza for performing!

In the summer of 1996, just before many of the gang were going off to University, they produced their first full length show of Sleeping Beauty. It was during that production that one of the actors broke his foot WHILE ON STAGE! Well, I guess it was good luck because here we are, 12 years later. We have had many amazing artists work with Cow Over Moon in the past including well known comedians, actors and even a few real live rock stars!

In 2000, Cow Over Moon became an official non-profit company which means that all the money we make from the shows, goes right back into making shows. We are all pros at this now, but we are in it for the love of it! We love doing what we do and we hope you have a good time.

Here are some of the amazing friends that have worked with Cow Over Moon:

Terrance Balazo (Musical comedy group The Gentlemen Callers), Michael Balazo (Gentlemen Callers and Tim Sims Award Nominee), Katie Crown (The Remainders, Laugh Sabbath, Tim Sims Award Winner and member of the band The Phonemes) Laura Condlln (Stratford Shakespeare Festival), Melissa D’Agostino (of current Lupe fame), Chris Locke (Laugh Sabbath, Cream of Comedy), Kathleen Phillips (Tim Sims Award Nominee, 2007 and 2008 NOW Magazine’s Best Character Comedian), Mark Sykes (TVOKids), Jesse Foster (from band The Germans),  Brian Froud (Swiss Family Guy Robinson), Sebastien Grainger (from bands Death From Above 1979 and currently Sebastien Grainger and the Mountains), Owen Marchildon (from band Purple Hill and previously From Fiction), Maggie Maloney (she’s been in EVERY SHOW since the beginning) Leon Taheny (from bands The Germans, Sebastien Grainger and the Mountains and Final Fantasy) and Graham Wagner (from Iron Cobra and Catch 23 improv)
